Laguna Verde, Potosi Department

4.5
#4 of 18 in Parks in Potosi Department
Seemingly surreal, the bright green water of Laguna Verde reflects against the snowcapped volcano that lies beyond it. The lake's unique composition of minerals cause it to have a startlingly bright green color that varies from turquoise to dark emerald. The area is best visited when there's a slight breeze in the air, just enough to stir the arsenic in the water and evoke the lovely green shade. Explore the surrounding area on foot or by car to take in all the beauty of the natural scenery. • Shortly after passing the Bolivian immigration (leaving Chile) This is the second Laguna, right after the Laguna Branca. It's beautiful and it gets greenish when it's windy. I was in September, a season that was very windy and she was in a beautiful shade.

  • Laguna Verde is a beautiful natural beauty near Chile border in Bolivia. It is one of the best views on the Salar de Uyuni road.
