The ancient Roman and pre-Roman archaeological site of Area Archeologica di Nora is an open-air museum, which includes a theater, tower, baths, forum, and mosaics. Take a guided tour through the ruins to hear in-depth detail about the site. The ruins lie at the edge of the sea--some even sit underwater as Sardinia slowly sinks into the ocean--and the optional climb of the tower offers better views. I have visited many archeological sites, but this place was really amazing. Right next to the see amazing mosaics, very well restored and kept. However many of the roads are closed so in case you turn bad road, you have to make whole circle to return, even if it would be possible to pass by other and closer stepway. And also the staff told us to wear the face mask in 50 degrees, when we have been outside (where it's not necessary to wear the face mask in Italy) and there were 5 people in the whole areal...

Beautiful archaeological site, but the visit is very much lacking. Not a lot of information available (and the app wasn't working for me), all the more infuriating because you can see where the old information panels were that they removed! On top of that a lot of the area is cordoned off, even where the path is already built and some panels are visible. As it is, I was limited to about half the ruins that I could see, and had little more guidance on what I was seeing than "this is a temple/theatre/villa/bath-house". The staff, although numerous, was also fairly clueless, not even knowing the timetable for the only bus that gets there. Very frustrating, because it would clearly take very little extra work to turn these piles of half-standing stones into a truly enlightening and inspiring experience.
