Barranco de Guayadeque, Gran Canaria

Barranco de Guayadeque is a cliff top filled with indigenous plants and natural caves originally settled by pioneers on the island. Visit the museum for a look at many of the artifacts they left behind. You can drive or catch a tour bus to see the caves themselves, many of which are still inhabited today, though they are now wired for electricity. Some of the residents may even invite you inside. A restaurant on the cliff offers traditional Canarian fare such as fried pork, traditionally prepared boiled potatoes, and local wine. • Beautiful valley. Access by Agüimes is very narrow. This ride is to do especially in good weather.
