Spain wants to preserve it, and had made this quite some time ago under special protection. The tourists (and not only) can enjoy this unique landscape. Spain offers many freedoms - including the ability to bathe (large, signposted Beach area) night or even naked (or even drawn - each according to his Plaisier) - in the dunes to lie. The dunes are used especially in the afternoon hours like for photo shoots or - from very nice vantage points (from the Mirador on the Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas - at the entrance by straight run to the viewpoint) especially at sunset admired. You can they also traverse, to reach the beaches of Playa del Inglés - warning: in the summer, the sand is during the day very (!) hot. Unfortunately only areas separated specifically for reasons of nature conservation are not really respected. Worse, Although in many places special garbage bags be placed, anywhere spewing waste - and that can be found in an area in which even thinnest paper handkerchiefs ½-1 year need to resolve. And since all liberality is not forbidden smoking in these sand dunes or on the beach, the sand is unfortunately practically everywhere - despite cleaning effort - contaminated by tilting - so cigarette butts and even other plastic waste. It hurts and embarrasses me to see this. There are many visitors unfortunately neither discipline nor any respect. And unfortunately, this definitely every visitor here who would like to experience this natural beauty with eyes open clouds. If Gran Canaria wants to get this beauty, it will unfortunately couldn't come to introduce even more drastic restrictions in addition to additional cleaning actions. What a pity.

It's beautiful, simple, clean. But it's beachfront a highway of pedestrians who come and go throughout the day, do not hesitate to move away a little. Not to be missed!
