Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
Your list of things to see and do now includes The Yo, Philly Rocky Film Tour, Wissahickon Valley Park, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and other attractions. For shopping fun, head to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets or T.J. Maxx. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The Met Cloisters and Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt. You'll find plenty of places to visit near New York City: Long Beach (in Long Beach), Jones Beach State Park (in Wantagh) and Independence National Historical Park (in Philadelphia). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, don't miss a visit to Fifth Avenue, take a stroll through Times Square, and stroll through Island Beach State Park.

For traveler tips, more things to do, where to stay, and other tourist information, use the New York City road trip planning tool.
