Bunker Hill Monument, Boston

Set in Boston's National Historical Park, Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the first major conflict in the American Revolutionary War. Though popularly known as the Battle of Bunker Hill, most of the fighting of June 17, 1775, took place on Breed's Hill, where the monument stands today. You can climb 294 steps to the top of the 67 m (221 ft) granite obelisk to discover far-reaching views of the city. An adjacent lodge with exhibits explains more about the historic battle and houses a statue of Dr. Joseph Warren, a major-general who died during the battle's final assault. • Great monument that’s well worth the climb. It’s a short walk from the USS Constitution to the monument. The monument is in a pretty park and looks beautiful. The climb is tough but is worth it with great views at the top. It’s a little out of the way from downtown and the rest of Boston but definitely something you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend visiting.
  • Great spot with a view in Boston! Only thing to do that's probably free in the city! A nice little climb to the top is great as t exercise and the view is totally worth it. Better to go when the place isn't too crowded for walk ways are small getting up. Off peak season. Otherwise great Monument to visit in Boston!
