  • Great Park downtown, quiet, not crowded and plenty of paths for strollers and wheelchairs etc. There is a Starbucks next to a fountain with a big shallow (inch deep) water feature kids can play in so very safe. Just being a change of clothes, great in the summer. Beautiful gardens and lawn areas to just sit relax, study, whatever. A great kids playground is right next to city hall so perfect to let kids blow off steam before heading up to the observation deck. Lots of parking nearby, at reasonable rates so you can drive there and have a stroll around.
  • An oasis of hard lines, international plants ,and water features. Built for the folks who enforce our law, mete out justice, and just generally run our society. Not to mention those who oil the machine, and turn the crank. I am thankful for this place where higher functioning homeless, all the way up to district court judges begin their day. Oddly enough I have yet to say good morning to some one who did not return my salutation. A truly welcome surprise for southern California.
