Whether you're interested in historically over-looked or emerging visual artists, Hammer Museum remains the most relevant cultural institution in town where you can see their works. Industrialist Armand Hammer founded the museum in 1990 to house his personal art collection that included works by acclaimed European and American artists dating from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. Since then, the museum became known as the hippest art gallery in town with a long list of free film screenings, performances, lectures, panel discussions, and other public programs. If you like genitals you'll like the exhibit on the third floor with the banana kid. Never have I experienced such awakening as I watched that motor powered hand masturbating going at it with mirrors that made me peer into my inner self. It was introspective and gave me a new perspective on woman I never understood before now. If you haven't gone I would most definitely recommend it and the best part are those SWIVEL chairs.
A nice family friendly place. There is a bar area and restaurant we're you can enjoy a drink in the courtyard. The museum has wonderful pieces of art. Best of all entry is free! However be parking is not free, although you may find street parking if you are lucky.
