Pershing Square, Los Angeles

2.8
Pershing Square is a heavy-rail subway station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It is located on Hill Street between 4th and 5th Streets, near Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. This station is served by the Metro B Line (Red) and the Metro D Line (Purple) and various local bus services. The Metro J Line (Silver) heading northbound to El Monte Station stops at the street level (Olive / 5th Street). The Metro J Line heading southbound to Harbor Gateway Transit Center does not stop near the station. The station uses an island platform layout and is decorated with a neon art piece by Stephen Antonakos. The work pays tribute to the first neon sign in the United States, which was hung in 1924 in the Pershing Square area. The station installed station canopies for the stations entrance in 2014. Pershing Square is near Angels Flight and Grand Central parking..

  • This is one of my favorite spots to go in LA. Often times there are events happening here, it's family friendly, and has a great view of Down Town LA from ground level. This park is maintained beautifully and has a little park for kids and some trees for shade. A great place to sit and read or have a small picnic or take the kids for some needed outside time.
  • This is a small park that appears to be safe with a lot of people and dog walkers. There's a security guard. I'd visit it in the early evening but not later at night due to too many transients. There's a statue of Beethoven dedicated to a music director and a statue of a WW I soldier to commemorate General Pershing.
