The Last Bookstore located in Central Downtown LA is an incredible place. It is filled with lots of books and from different genres. The people who work there are very knowledgeable, and very helpful and nice. The way the place is arranged and organized is very unique and it captures your attention immediately. Even though the shelves don't look like the normal arrangement, the books and sections are actually pretty organized. There were couches and chairs where you can sit, there were great artwork and book design structures that stand out. If you are a book lover, this place is definitely worth a visit!
What a great treasure - this is an old art deco bank that has been transformed into a used/new bookstore. They are so fun and clever with a "portal" of books in a bookshelf (perfect for pictures!) and a book arch you walk through, and even a shelf organized by color (another picture opportunity). It's got charm and character, much like an old book. There are art installations and studios around the top. My only complaint is that over the years it's moved from used books to more of a new book sale feel. I don't know if their actual proportions have changed - but it feels like more of the books you pick up are new and mass market instead of used classics.
