Create an itinerary including Hirosaki Park
Take a stroll through Hirosaki Park, a large public green space in the middle of town known for its large and storied castle. The castle, built in 1611 and reconstructed in 1810, acted as a base for the town's dominant Tsugaru clan, before its surrender to the Meiji government during the restoration. Its wood and stone form cuts an imposing figure over the cherry trees, scenic moats, and well-maintained traditional Japanese gardens that surround it. The Aomori apples sold from stalls around the park are a real treat. • Gorgeous cherry blossoms, food vendors, and cheap. Park nearby and walk in. Shouldn't pay more than 1000yen for the day in parking. Guard tower tour was fun to explore, note there are really steep stairs and no handicap access. Boats to rent in the outer moat and very english friendly.
  • 2022/11/07 visit Those maple trees were so amazing in the Hirosaki Park and out of my expectation. What a pity that the castle was under maintenance on the day.
