Create an itinerary including Goshikinuma Lake
Take a walk around Goshikinuma Lake, a set of five strikingly colored lakes. The lakes have existed since 1887, when a nearby volcano erupted and sent a mass of earth and rubble down into what was then a river, creating separate bodies of water. Minerals in the earth have made the water of each a different shade of blue, while plants and algae in the depths have a red tinge, creating a captivating scene of vivid colors. Hike between the five main lakes to snap photos capturing each one's individual look. Plan your visit to Goshikinuma Lake and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Kitashiobara-mura trip maker app.

  • I got on a rowing boat. It's quite thrilling because it shakes. The scenery is beautiful and soothing.
  • I visited in the middle of May, the dazzling fresh green. The contrast between the green of the trees and the blue of the lake surface was beautiful. Walking paths vary depending on places such as hard-to-walk places, well-maintained roads, and low-rise wooden roads. We recommend clothes that can adjust body temperature by wearing easy-to-walk sneakers.
