Create an itinerary including Entsu-in Temple
Built in 1646, Entsu-in Temple represents the most important temple of the area, which also serves as the mausoleum of Date Mitsumune. Unfortunately, the lord died young, at the age of 19. A statue depicts him on a white horse, surrounded by his faithful devotees. Tour the interiors to see the gold-leaf decor, with Western symbols such as hearts, spades, and crosses. The grounds of the temple contain several gardens, each with a different theme. Talk a walk through the rose and rock gardens, and then grab a bite at the restaurant on site. • Beuatiful temple and the garden is just breathtaking. You can see how much effort and love they put into maintaining the site. The staff was really friendly, everything was really lovely. The atmosphere was... ethereal. Can definitely recommend coming here esrly in the morning.
  • The day time entrance fee for each adult is 300 Yen while the light up night time entrance fee is 1,300 Yen. While the fall foliage views are good, there are too many people especially at night (even on a weekday). No tripods are allowed and it is difficult to take clear photos of the red leaves at night. Day visit is recommended.
