The Morioka Castle is perhaps the most well known landmark to visit in Morioka. Please note you will not find an actual castle here. If you're from Canada, it's more of a city park with a few monuments. There is a totem pole from Vancouver Island here! There were two stray cats here. One of which followed us for nearly twenty minutes. The cat was adorable. We then entered the museum. The first floor has a few displays and videos from traditional Morioka festivals. They were all free to access. The museum on the second floor is paid entry, but I didn't enter as I wasn't in a mood to read that day. I highly recommend checking this area out!

I visited this park during Golden week so Sakura is already gone . Although there was no castle but is still a beautiful part . A very short walk from Morioka station.
