Create an itinerary including Children's Museum of the Arts
At Children's Museum of the Arts, get a healthy doze of messy fun and creativity with your kids, without having to clean up afterwards. Founded in 1988, the museum welcomes children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers, and teaches them how to create drawings, collages, sculptures, textiles, and stop-motion animation. Located in the lively Hudson Square neighborhood, this bright, airy, creative hub doubles as an indoor playground. A broad gallery at the heart of the museum exhibits works by professional artists, but the museum also keeps a collection of international children's art dating back to the 1930s. Note that the museum does not allow strollers in its galleries, but has a stroller parking inside. • This museum looks fun but it is small, they are very cheap and don't use good quality art supplies for the kids--just leftovers from who knows where. Everything is dirty--the aprons are not freshened....  more

  • The children's museum is a very nice place. Gives the children a clever point of view about the arts.

  • We used to come here at least once a month for the arts and activities. Since the pandemic, they don't seem intent on ever reopening their facility. Instead they are offering "off-site and virtual experiences" for members. It's a shame their leadership made this decision, when other institutions, like the Manhattan and Brooklyn Children's Museums have been up and thriving for over a year and a half.
