Experience the bustling feel of the city at its transportation center, Grand Central Terminal. With old-world charm and impressive turn-of-the-century architecture, the two-story station covers an area of 19 hectares (48 acres), making it one of the largest terminals in the world. Wander the buzzing main concourse to admire the high-vaulted ceilings adorned with constellations, or the four-face clock that serves as the station’s icon. Head into the station's concourses for a wide array of restaurants and shops, including a market where you can pick up local produce and meat. I normally get off the train at Grand Central Station but I've never bothered to go upstairs where the real beauty is until today. So I decided to go upstairs into this large beautiful room filled with conversations from people of all walks of life. Inside Grand Central are many stores and a great dining area which offers good food. P.S If you're looking for the restrooms they are downstairs in the dining area. In the large room upstairs you should look up at the ceiling and you'll see the constellations I felt like I was in a 1940's film, so classic and lovely! The architecture of this building is amazing and it has a historical look and feel to it. I was definetly in complete awe of this place and will definitely return to see this beautiful building once again.

A New York must see. It really is something amazing. It's the heart of the transportation system in New York. Probably one of America's best examples ofurban planning done right. The architecture alone is worth seeing. It's hard to imagine that something that is so heavily utilized still manages to shine. Undoubtedly there is a proverbial army of people that keep the building clean and sound and they should be applauded for their efforts. Still, it's astounding to me that something so heavily utilized manages to stay so beautiful. It saddens me that more of our urban structures don't adhere to the same principles that this structure was built with. Sometimes spending time on design and spending money on the right materials ends up lasting longer and being a better reflection of the type of society we want to be.
